We're getting closer....

Today Brad did the "walk through" on our new house. Other than two missing shutters, and a few cosmetic touches (which you'll see were marked with blue tape on the video), there was nothing major. They said they could fix everything within one days time! We asked about the possibility of moving in early, and they said they would look into it. It would be nice to paint before we moved all the furniture in, but if it doesn't work out I'm sure we'll find enough things to keep us busy between now and next Thursday...

Unfortunately Josiah has pink-eye, so I stayed home with the kids and Brad took a few short video clips with our camera to show me what everything looked like. So I thought I'd share with you, since most of you are just as excited as we are! Keep in mind Brad was video taping from our digital camera so they're really short clips! The only thing we got on video is the main living area, and kitchen downstairs, the second is of the upstairs loft area and one bedroom, and the third clip is of the master bedroom. Hope you enjoy!

Emily turns 30

This weekend I took the kids on a road trip to Seattle for my sister's 30th birthday party. It was a fun weekend with very little sleep, but occasionally I'm okay with that. I think I still need a few more days to recuperate, but I'm getting there. Emily's husband Ebb cooked us up an awesome Shrimp Boil and everybody else pitched in with salads, chips, and desserts. I think I ate enough to feed a small army, but all those extra pounds were well worth it! Yum! Here are a few pics from her birthday party.

Cousins At Play

We are loving having my sister driving distance away! We've always dreamed about being neighbors with a gate in between our yards so the kids could just run back and forth, and the adults could enjoy free babysitting... so far that hasn't happened, but we are loving the freedom to hop in the car if we have a free weekend to see each other. The cousins have been having fun getting to know each other, and Josiah has started saying, "Gaston's my best buddy!" It's nice (and chaotic) having kids the same ages! Recently we had all six of them get their pictures taken at Penney's - amazingly enough they did pretty good. I thought six kids under the age of 5 would have had the lady taking the pictures about ready to pull her hair out, but after all was said and done she actually told us they did much better than most big groups. I'm not sure if it was a sales pitch, but it made us mommies feel a lot better! Here's some cute pictures of the kids. Most of them were taken at my grandma's house. She has three turtles that the kids loved! I laughed because it didn't take too long for the turtles to huddle in a corner the farthest AWAY from the kids! There's some cute ones of the kids building castles, and some more of them window shopping in a toy magazine. The last couple pictures were taken at Emily's birthday party.
